This project took shape during the pandemic, in a context of confinement that imposed new ways of seeing and being in the world. From within that transformed reality, the artist turned her gaze toward the women around her, recognizing in them a silent, persistent, and luminous strength. This everyday observation activated a deeply rooted personal memory: that of growing up in a matriarchal family in Barranquilla, Colombia, where female strength was not the exception, but the foundation.
The work is structured around a question that cuts across both collective history and intimate experience: How have women, throughout time, faced their social and personal crises? Rather than offering a singular answer, the project creates a visual space for reflection, empathy, and the celebration of that resilience. Through images that combine emotional observation and symbolic construction, the work reclaims a feminine universe that, far from fracturing in times of crisis, asserts itself with even greater intensity.

ANÓNIMAS
These pieces condense the memory and imprint of a strength built from the intimate. Derived from the Fortalezas series, they revisit its experimental, technical, and material processes, proposing a sensitive continuity with that earlier body of work. However, here scale plays a fundamental role: the smaller format invites close, almost ntrospective contemplation, in which the work offers itself as a symbolic mirror.
This gesture of miniaturization does not entail a reduction of strength on the contrary, it enhances the emotional dimension of the pieces, which draw on the power of the everyday, the personal, and the seemingly fragile. Through them, the artist reminds us with subtlety and honesty of the beauty and resilience that dwell within each of us.
