EMOTION OF COLOURS

Emotion of Colours is a series born from movement understood as an emotional state, an inner journey, and a way of inhabiting the present. The works become witnesses to a vital process an initiatory experience in which contained energy is released and color becomes a vehicle for connecting with emotion, memory, and the body. Formally, the work is built on lona costeña, a traditional Colombian fabric that evokes everyday life and cultural roots. The artist intervenes on both sides of the canvas using fluid washes, which create liquid layers where structures, gestures, and pathways are traced. Black strokes evoke movement, uncertainty, and the imprint of what cannot be controlled.

Amid the voids, shapes and elements in primary colors emerge, bringing vital energy and amplifying the expressiveness of the series. There is no predetermined plan, but rather an active listening to what the material suggests a collaboration between gesture and chance, between intention and openness.

Emotion of Colours thus unfolds as a visual and sensorial exploration of emotional flow: a journey that does not seek to reach a destination, but to dwell in the in-between states, the intensities of feeling, the invisible spaces that arise when we allow ourselves to simply be.
